Syrris has announced the forthcoming launch of its Asia Flux electrochemistry module at the International Conferences on Microreaction Technology (IMRET) in Budapest, Hungary, from the 23rd to the 25th of June 2014.

The latest addition to the Asia range of advanced flow reactors, the compact Asia Flux module is just 16 cm (6.3 inches) wide and offers the combined advantages of continuous flow processes and electrochemistry, enabling tuneable, scalable reactions.

It allows unique chemical transformations, not possible with other techniques, to be performed quickly and easily, as well as preparative scale electrochemical processes previously limited to batch chemistry, offering ultimate ease of use and reproducibility.

Asia Flux is ideal for multi-step reactions and applications such as anodic oxidations, cathodic reductions and the synthesis of Phase I drug metabolites and Phase II glutathione adducts. Its innovative design allows electrodes to be changed in seconds with no tools required, and switching the active electrode from anode to cathode is as simple as touching a button.

For simplicity, a ‘click and go’ control knob allows straightforward selection of constant current (galvanostatic) or voltage (potentiostatic) modes, as well as the desired residence time.

An integrated temperature probe ensures accurate control and real-time monitoring of the reactor temperature, providing a complete reaction temperature profile.

For maximum flexibility, the Asia Flux can be used either ‘stand-alone’ or in combination with other Asia modules and the Asia Manager PC software.
