The Automation Partnership (TAP) has announced that it will be previewing the Fill-It™ 48-way, the system in its benchtop automated dispensing range on Stands K3-K4 at the ELRIG (European Laboratory Robotics Interest Group) Drug Discovery 2010 Meeting, on September 1st -2nd.

The Fill-it 48-way is a welcome addition to the Fill-It range, and is compatible with Nunc's new racks of 2.0 and 5.0 ml vials, supplied in racks pre-loaded with 48 vials. Offering these bigger vial volumes, Fill-It 48-way allows processing of larger batches.

The Fill-It 48-way can be integrated with many liquid handlers and is compact enough to fit in a standard laboratory tissue culture cabinet to maintain aseptic conditions. This design makes Fill-It an invaluable tool for maintaining centralized cell line libraries, screening operations or GMP cell bank production.

The Fill-It range, which includes SBS standard 24 and 96-way rack formats, are already widely used systems for dispensing of cell suspensions and other liquids (biological and non-biological) into screw-cap micro tubes and cryovials. Furthermore, versions of the range are available for all common vial and tube types, including, Corning, Greiner, Matrix, Micronic, Nalgene and Sarstedt.

Stephen Guy, Fill-It Product Manager at TAP commented: "The 24 way and 96 versions of Fill-It have been very well received, as a way to efficiently decap and fill multiple vials, supporting tube types from all major consumables suppliers. The system is enabling the rapid production of high quality, consistent, freezer-ready stock vials in many of the world’s major cell production facilities.”

Guy continued: “This is why we were pleased to collaborate with Nunc on this new labware system, to extend the range by developing the Fill-It 48-way to support automated filling of these cryovials."
