TTP LabTech will be showcasing mosquito® Crystal and its new mosquito® LCP liquid handler on the 9-10 November at the annual Advances in Protein Crystallography conference and exhibition 2010, Florence, Italy.

mosquito LCP is a liquid handler designed to facilitate the crystallization of membrane proteins, such as G-protein coupled receptors, by offering a fully automated solution to lipid cubic phase (LCP) screening. It overcomes common problems with accurately dispensing nanolitre quantities of these highly viscous lipids and the precise positioning of buffer drops on top required for efficient imaging of membrane crystals.

TTP LabTech senior scientist Joby Jenkins will be presenting on “A fast and fully automated solution for Lipidic Cubic Phase Screening (LCP) using mosquito LCP” at 11:45 on 9th November, during the New Instrumentation and Methodologies session at the conference. The presentation will explore the challenges associated with automating the LCP method and how the new mosquito LCP liquid handler enables accurate LCP screening to be performed with ease.
