Finding a Drug for COVID-19: We Don't Have Time To Start From Scratch
The Chanda Lab at Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute worked very quickly to screen nearly 12,000 compounds – already tested in humans – to find a drug that can slow or stop SARS-CoV-2. The approach is likely the fastest path to a treatment for COVID-19 (novel coronavirus). The effort is part of an international collaboration to respond to this public health crisis.
