Unified Laboratory Intelligence for Impurity Resolution Management
Maximizing the effective patent life of a marketed drug is one of the main priorities for researchers. According to a March 2010 article in Nature, the estimated average cost for pharmaceutical companies to bring a new chemical entity (NCE) to market is approximately 1.8 billion and requires 13.5 years on average. Identifying and characterizing an impurity in a couple of days less time can literally equate to a gain of a million dollars in net present value.
