Genomic DNA Handling and the Agilent Femto Pulse System
Before you can embark on one of the many applications involving genomic DNA (gDNA), it is important to assess the quality of your samples, especially if these samples could have been exposed to physical shearing or enzymatic degradation.
Pulsed field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) is typically used for quality assessment of gDNA, but this method requires overnight runs and consumes significant amounts of sample, whereas the Agilent Femto Pulse System offers sizing analysis of high molecular weight DNA samples through 165 kb in under 70 minutes.
