Hi, and welcome to our blogging site. Whilst doing a bit of research today, I came across this fascinating article on genetic responses to extreme altitudes. Expression profiling in 4 human subjects, by blood collection at varying altitudes, gave some exciting insights into the transcriptional regulatory landscape involved in the body’s overall coping mechanisms in such conditions. Of great interest is the unexpected role played by the OCT4 stem cell regulator gene.

Enjoy!
