Chief Science Officer
at The DNA Company
Dr. Krista Kostroman, ND is a naturopathic doctor and chief science officer at The DNA Company, where she advances innovation in personalized and preventative medicine. With a background that bridges computer science, genetics and naturopathy, she focuses on translating complex genetic data into accessible insights that improve clinical care and empower patients. Her academic path began at Queen’s University, where she studied cognitive science within the School of Computer Science, before transitioning from a career in technology to naturopathic medicine. She earned her doctorate at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, where she also trained in adjunctive cancer care and refined her patient-centered approach at The Toronto Clinic, - a center for integrative and preventative health. Dr. Kostroman’s work is grounded in a holistic philosophy that unites scientific precision with the healing arts. With nearly two decades of experience teaching and practicing meditation and yoga, she integrates mind-body practices into her clinical and scientific work. She emphasizes that true health means caring for the mind and spirit alongside the body and that laughter is as essential to well-being as diet and exercise. In addition to her role at The DNA Company, she serves on the boards of The DNA Company and Hera Nurture, a not-for-profit supporting women caregivers. Her leadership reflects her commitment to advancing health care that is both accessible and deeply human.
