Natasha Beeton-Kempen, PhD profile page


Natasha Beeton-Kempen holds a PhD in molecular biology from the University of Cape Town, all the way down at the tip of South Africa. Her PhD focused on pharmacogenetics and human drug metabolism. She then worked as a postdoc and later as a senior scientist for the CSIR, a parastatal research organization. Her work included the development of polymer-based reagents, setting up and running the next-generation sequencing platform, and the development of diagnostics for infectious diseases of agricultural importance. Natasha has since branched out to explore the world of remote working as a medical and science writer.
