Emerald BioSystems and CellFree Sciences Begin Strategic Partnership

Emerald BioSystems, Inc. and CellFree Sciences Co., Ltd . (CFS) have entered into a strategic partnership to enhance each company’s development, marketing, and sales activities in North America, Europe, and Japan. 

By working together, CFS and Emerald will make use of significant synergies in their respective product lines ranging from synthetic gene design software (Emerald’s Gene Composer™) to sophisticated laboratory automation and reagents for cell-free protein production (CFS’s ENDEXT® reagents and Protemist® instruments) and to protein crystallization.

Under the agreement, Emerald will provide the exclusive sales point for CFS products in Europe and North America. In turn, CFS shall assist Emerald in reaching customers in Japan for certain Emerald Products. This will permit life science researchers in these regions to benefit from direct access to and customer support for CFS and Emerald product lines. To further synergize product lines for the global life science marketplace, the parties have also established a joint research and development group.
