Epigenetic Mechanisms of Blood Cell Differentiation

Hematopoietic stem cells in the bone marrow (left) give rise to a variety of blood cell types. This includes white blood cells such as T cells and dendritic cells responsible for our immune defense (upper right panel) or red blood cells responsible for oxygen transport (lower right panel).
