Richard DeLateur has joined Fluidigm Corporation as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. DeLateur has 25 years of finance, general management, and business development experience, including 20 years at Intel Corporation.

His most recent position at Intel was General Manager of New Business Investments responsible for Intel's internal corporate venturing, as well as Vice President of Intel Capital responsible for the international portion of Intel's external venture backed portfolio.

From 1991 to 1998 Mr. DeLateur was the Vice President and Group Controller for Intel's Worldwide Technology and Manufacturing Group and, subsequently, the Intel Architecture Business Group, during a period of dramatic growth in the microprocessor business.

"Rich has the background in manufacturing, early stage companies, and strategic alliances that will help push Fluidigm to a new level of excellence," said Gajus Worthington, Fluidigm's CEO. "I couldn't name another individual who would be a better fit for this company."

"It's a rare opportunity to be involved with a company on the cutting edge of a technology that has such widespread implications for everyday life," said Richard DeLateur, Fluidigm's CFO. "I am honored to be part of a team as dedicated and capable as Fluidigm's employees."

After his departure from Intel, Rich joined Topspin Communications as Chief Financial Officer.
