LabTrader has been recognized by the San Diego Business Journal and the USD Family Owned Business Forum as the 2005 Emerging Family Business of the Year. This award is given to companies who have had significant accomplishments with a business in a short period of time.

The Gaston family took over management of LabTrader in 2000 and has turned a struggling biotechnology instrumentation company into one of the premiere equipment resellers in the country.

Operating off their core values of honesty, value and high end customer service, the Gaston family has been able to elevate and encourage the concept of adding value to a biotech by investing in surplus and manufacturer overstock instrumentation.

As a dedicated supporter of the San Diego community, LabTrader also houses business and biotech incubators on site in their 25,000 sq. ft. facility in North San Diego County.

In 2006, LabTrader is proud to announce that they will be launching a business support organization.

BOBBS, the Band of Business and Biotech Start Ups, will serve as a support community for small and mid-sized business and biotechs in North San Diego County. Look for meeting times in the local edition of the Biotechnology Calendar.
