Leica Microsystems GmbH has announced a new CFO. From October 1, 2006, Martin Geisel will take over from Armin Hopf, who was responsible for the company’s finances since 1997.

Hopf is leaving Leica Microsystems after 26 years at his own request. Like Hopf, Geisel will report to the President, Dr. Wolf- Otto Reuter.

Business school graduate Geisel began his career with various assignments in auditing, in banks and brokerage firms before going into industry in 1997.

The Fluke company and later Hach-Lange, which, like Leica Microsystems, belong to the listed US Danaher Corporation, entrusted him with jobs in Production, Human Resources, Technical Service and Customer Support.

His last job before joining Leica was as CFO of Hach-Lange in Berlin. Martin Geisel is 46 years old, married and has two children.
