Read time: 1 minute

Prime Synthesis, Inc. has announced the creation of 3-Prime, llc. its newest production and distribution division.

Established to serve the evolving needs of oligonucleotide researchers in the R&D synthesis markets, 3-Prime, will service the nucleic acid synthesis needs of a wide range of researchers and companies.

3-Prime will support DNA and RNA synthesis with a product range that includes controlled porosity glass (CPG) and Polystyrene in standard and customized chemical formats, synthesis columns, column parts, and molecular sieves.

"This new division will deliver the same quality and process control features demanded by our therapeutic customers, into the research market," noted David Eyler, CEO of Prime Synthesis, Inc.

"3-Prime is taking those key attributes, tailoring them, and bringing them to custom oligo houses, core labs, and diagnostic companies."

According to 3-Prime's new president, Marc Rothstein, the new division's customers will benefit from "a service focused on their unique needs, dedicated to serving the smaller-scale synthesis community."

"At the same time, we're actually enabling Prime Synthesis, Inc. to continue to thrive through a concentration on its therapeutic oligo customers."

"We're providing the research community with the highest quality supports for synthesis work," Rothstein continued.

"For instance, all products developed by 3-Prime will be functionally tested, validated and tuned to the needs of the synthesis via a technology partnership with Integrated DNA Technologies, Inc."

Trey Martin, COO of Integrated DNA Technologies, Inc., commented that the collaboration with 3-Prime "means that researchers working with 3-Prime not only receive effective products for their work, but they will also benefit from IDT's analytical expertise and our experience in high-throughput oligo production."

3-Prime has established a full e-commerce capable presence online, where customers can access the full array of products and services, and make their purchases in a safe and secure environment.
