ServiceXS has announced that it has received ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for their genome sequencing, genotyping services, gene expression profiling, and DNA methylation assays.

On April 22nd, the Dutch RvA (Dutch Accreditation Council) officially handed the certificate to Prof. dr. Bart Janssen, Innovation and Quality manager at ServiceXS.

For a Service Provider in Genomics it is important to have full control over the quality of each service. Bart Janssen said, “Implementation of the quality management system was an intensive process, but we achieved what we had in mind and the Accreditation Council rewarded our efforts.”

ISO/IEC 17025 is the main standard for laboratory testing and specifies general requirements for competence to carry out assays, ability to consistently produce valid and traceable results, and continuous improvement of quality management.

The ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation followed a detailed external audit and is a formal worldwide recognition of competence.
