Source BioScience has expanded its market leading DNA sequencing service in Ireland with the official opening of its new laboratory in Tramore, County Waterford.

The opening was conducted by John Perry TD, the Minister of State for Small Business, cutting the ceremonial ribbon alongside the Mayor of Tramore, Councillor Blaise Hannigan.

The new laboratory is key to the growth of Source BioScience’s DNA sequencing service in Ireland. The Tramore laboratory is strategically positioned between Cork and Dublin, providing an opportunity to expand the Overnight Shipment™ service to all areas of the country, enabling customers across Ireland to access their sequencing data within 24 hours.

The DNA sequencing laboratory complements Source BioScience’s existing stability storage facility in Tramore, which provides IMB certified, GMP accredited storage at all ICH conditions, custom stability conditions and -80°C ultra-low temperature storage to customers in Ireland. Source BioScience designs and manufactures its own stability storage suites, ensuring the highest specification and service standards.

Nick Ash, CEO at Source BioScience, commented: “The investment demonstrates our long term commitment to Ireland. The country has a vibrant and growing life sciences and pharmabiotech  industry, with some of the biggest names in the world located here.  Tramore is a friendly community which supports local business and is a great place to work. We are delighted to be a part of this prosperous, growing region.”
