The 2014 Annual MO BIO Microbiome Awards, Offering More Than $10,000 of Prizes

MO BIO Laboratories announces the launch of the first Annual MO BIO Microbiome Awards. Submissions are now being accepted from researchers from all over the world. 

MO BIO Laboratories, main sponsor of the awards, is generously donating prizes for more than $10,000 in value to distribute among the awardees. The winners will receive a research package consisting of the analysis of a total of 200 microbiome samples run by the Earth Microbiome Project (EMP) consortium. The sample analysis includes nucleic acid extraction (using MO BIO products) and targeted amplicon analysis (16S rDNA).

The jury panel consists of independent, renowned representatives from various institutions and universities who are currently leading the field of microbiome research: Jack A. Gilbert, Ph.D., Janet Jansson, Ph.D., Rob Knight, Ph.D., leaders of the EMP consortium, Jonathan A. Eisen, Ph.D., UC Davis, Joseph F. Petrosino, Ph.D., and Suzanne Kennedy, Ph.D. from Baylor College of Medicine.

Projects can be submitted at www.microbiomeprojects.com/submissions before the May 31st, 2014 deadline.
