Trevor Heritage Joins Appistry's Expanding Management Team of Technology Executives

The company announced that Trevor Heritage has joined the company's management team as VP of Sales and Marketing. Heritage will draw on his more than 20 years of global product development, marketing, and business development and operations experience to develop strategic customer and executive-level relationships that support Appistry's long-term growth. Heritage will oversee the company's overarching sales and marketing initiatives while spearheading life sciences positioning and alliance building strategies for Appistry's genomic data analysis solutions.

Prior to joining Appistry, Heritage held a number of high-profile positions in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemicals and software sectors where he developed an extensive track record for operating emerging technology companies and guiding them through successful mergers and acquisitions. Most recently, Heritage served as Executive Vice President, Software Products for life science software provider, Accelrys Inc. In this capacity he oversaw business strategy while orchestrating a transformational merger with his former employer, Symyx Software, where he served as President. Earlier in his career, Heritage held senior leadership positions at Elsevier MDL, Tripos and Shell Research, managing corporate and product development while developing an expertise in life sciences, informatics and data management.

Heritage's new role with Appistry represents his second tour of duty in St. Louis--previously with Tripos, he was the recipient of the St. Louis Business Journal's annual "40 Under 40" Business Award in 2005. Heritage, who currently serves as a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for IBC Life Sciences and the University of Indiana School of Informatics, looks forward to replicating prior successes in accelerating the growth of an innovative, St. Louis-based technology provider.

Heritage's hiring comes on the heels of Appistry's recent relocation to The Art of Living Building in downtown St. Louis. The company continues to aggressively identify and hire the world's most talented and experienced engineering, computational biologists and computer science professionals.
