The X PRIZE Foundation has created a philanthropic prize model designed to stimulate research and accelerate development of radical achievements that will benefit humanity.
In a press conference, held on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 from 10:00 AM ET - 11:00 AM ET in Washington, DC, scientific minds have come together for a common cause: to announce the largest medical prize in history and talk about this technology.
Rapid genome sequencing will allow doctors to determine an individuals’ susceptibility to disease and even the genetic links to cancer.
Mapping genetic code is like taking an X-Ray allowing doctors to see inside person’s genetic past and eventually be able to help determine genetic future.
This technology helps person refine and perfect their knowledge and practice of preventive medical treatments and procedures. Preventing disease is the next best thing to curing disease.
