ZyGEM Corp. Ltd. has announced an agreement with Morpho (Safran group) to market advanced forensic products to police forces worldwide.

ZyGEM’s products have the potential to revolutionize many forensic applications where accuracy, speed, ease-of-use and accessibility are critical.

Morpho will apply its three decades of security-related high technology and systems expertise to market ZyGEM’s sample preparation and forensics analysis products to police forces worldwide.

ZyGEM’s agreement with Morpho also includes a strategic research and development collaboration.

“Rapid advances in technology are enabling a new generation of forensic tools with the potential to significantly enhance the capabilities of law enforcement agencies,” noted Jean-Paul Jainsky, chairman and chief executive officer of Morpho.

Jainsky continued, “Morpho intends to be a leader in ensuring that our customers have access to these new tools, and we welcome the opportunity to develop and market advanced forensic products to police forces around the world based on ZyGEM’s innovative technologies. We believe that these technologies are enabling major advances in forensic tools that will bring countless benefits to customers.”

Paul Kinnon, CEO of ZyGEM, commented, “We are delighted that Morpho will be helping to develop and market these innovative technologies to police forces worldwide. Morpho currently provides identity verification products that are used in more than 100 countries, and we believe they are an exceptionally strong channel for our efforts to provide new products specifically addressing the needs of police forces in diverse countries around the globe.”

ZyGEM, in conjunction with development and federal sales partner Lockheed Martin, is developing integrated sample-to-answer systems with the potential to revolutionize forensic testing.

ZyGEM also develops and markets proprietary technologies for the extraction of DNA and RNA from diverse samples using thermophilic enzymes.

The unique properties of the company’s prepGEM™, forensicGEM™, livestockGEM™ and RNAGEM™ families of nucleic acid extraction kits make possible cost effective and flexible solutions for researchers performing a wide variety of life sciences and biomedical studies, including human genotyping, animal testing and basic research.
