Background Strain Effects on Mouse Phenotype
The ability to manipulate the mouse genome and to generate specific gene knockout and transgenic models has led to an explosion of mouse models of disease. It is important to be aware that the background strain of the mouse model can have a substantial effect on the observed phenotype.

Library Production: A Database for the Enzymatic Production of Small Interfering RNA (siRNA)
Presented is the Library Production (LP), a web-based tool that allows storage and integration of data from the production process. The LP tool is a database covering currently 15,000 - 30,000 esiRNA molecules each for three libraries and forms part of a comprehensive software package called Laboratory Information Management System of the Technology Development Studio (TDS-LIMS).

Biomathematical Information Compression and Signal Extraction for Gene Expression Microarray Data Analysis
Gene expression Microarray data covers both signal (active key genes) and noise. A tentative to recognize any genes expression pattern without clearing the data is like recognizing faces and details on a jammed TV screen. Noise in this context can be related to fluctuation due to the experimental condition, to outliers, and also genes presenting no modulation between groups. In this work we present a biostatisticalmethod for noise filtering and statistical significance assessment.

Assay Miniaturisation using Hummingbird and synQUAD Systems
The data shown demonstrates that assay integrity is maintained when dispensing nanoliter volumes to 1536 well plates. Significant savings in reagent and assay costs can be realised from assay miniaturisation with the additional advantage of getting more assays and data from compound stocks before depletion.

Rapid and Miniaturized Robotic Crystallization Experiment using the Honeybee 963™ System
The Honeybee 963 for automated sitting drop crystallization studies enables rapid, precise and accurate dispensing of nano-liter (nl) volumes of screening and protein solutions. Rapid dispensing to both reservoirs and shelves minimizes evaporation while precise and accurate dispensing allows for miniaturization and conserves precious protein.

Identification of Genomic and Proteomic Signatures in Lymphomas by Inducible shRNA
The combination of RNA interference with gene expression profiling and proteomic analysis represent a powerful tool to characterize the signaling network mediating tumorigenesis and maintenance of ALK positive lymphomas and to individuate suitable targets for a therapeutic intervention.
