Phytochelatins (PCs), a name coined by E. Grill et al. (1), belong to a class of heavy metal-detoxifying peptides.

These glutathione derived peptides chelate heavy metals such as Cd, Zn, Cu and Pb and have a general formula of (gamma-Glu-Cys)n-Gly, where n = 2-11. Repeating units is dependent on the concentration and duration of metal exposure (2, 3).

AnaSpec currently offers Phytochelatins PC2 through PC6. AnaSpec also offers Biotinylated & HiLyte FluorTM 488-labeled (Abs/Em = 498/525 nm) PC2 to PC4.
