aureka® - Advanced Microsampling Platform at PAG 2014

Read time: Less than a minute

M/s aura optik from Jena, Germany has presented aureka®, the novel microsampling platform for microscopes.

aureka® offers proper tools and techniques for stimulation, isolation or manipulation of microscopic objects - so the user can address small cell groups or even single cells.

aureka® consists of a dedicated ease-of-use micromanipulator with exchangeable tools that is integrated into a stereo/ zoom microscope.

Please find a recently published application example, where the isolation of digestion glands from fresh Nepenthes pitchers is demonstrated. The scientists collected glands to study the gene expression in this carnivorous plant's digestion organ. A very short summery please find under www.jove.com/video/50993.

At the PAG 2014, a new version, aureka® II is presented for the first time to the public. The more compact design now allows to create a double-arm model for working simultaneously with two tools. By this means, aureka® II will help to solve even more complex tasks and application requirements.
