BD Biosciences, Bioimaging Systems has announced the release of IPLab v4.0 for the Windows operating system. Used by thousands of laboratories worldwide, IPLab is an image acquisition, processing and analysis software solution for biological applications. 

IPLab v4.0 includes a multidimensional acquisition feature to simplify complex live cell time-lapse experiments. 

The 6D Acquire provides a simple step by step interface for acquiring multiple wavelength time-lapse images, including Z-stacks, from multiple (x,y,z) locations. 

An autofocus feature, supporting both software and hardware based methods is now included. The camera toolbar is designed to provide quick access to a live image preview and the most widely used image acquisition feature methods.

The Analysis Toolbar provides a task/experiment oriented toolbar for processing and analyzing a single image or multiple images quickly and efficiently. 

Custom configurations may also be created using acquisition, processing and analysis features available within IPLab. Additional new analysis tools for analyzing and counting "objects within objects", are now available.
