BioWisdom Launches Enhanced Version of SRS
BioWisdom SRS Limited has announced the launch of SRS 8.2. This release of SRS since its acquisition by BioWisdom was revealed at the European Bioinformatics Institute’s June Industry Programme Workshop.
SRS 8.2 is designed to provide significant enhancements to users and a more scientifically focused interface that will be able to widen the potential user base within a pharmaceutical organisation.
Enhancements within SRS 8.2 include:
- SRS is twice as fast for common indexing and querying tasks; system responsiveness has been increased significantly;
- users can obtain comprehensive information about individual concepts using SRS Summary Sheets;
- information and conclusions can be shared with colleagues with an annotation capability enabling comments to be added to any database entry;
- data can be identified by re-using favourite queries and analysis tool configurations stored in the MySRS area;
- simplified start page for users and scientific concept-based querying, enables wider use within an organisation.
In addition, the standard SRS package now includes SRS Relational. SRS Relational enables customers to combine and analyse their internally generated databases with the third party information supplied via SRS.
Well-known databases, such as GO and ENSEMBL, are supported out-of-the-box. Customers will now be able to access all their data from SRS, which will help improve decision-making.
"At the time of BioWisdom’s acquisition of the SRS business in April 2006, we made a commitment to continue to enhance its functionality, therefore we are delighted to announce the launch of SRS 8.2," said Gordon Baxter, CEO of BioWisdom.
"With this new version, our customers will experience significant improvements in performance and usability; SRS will be more broadly applicable to a wider group of users throughout a pharma organisation."
"With SRS, we now have a platform that can work alongside BioWisdom’s Sofia KnowledgeSuite products to provide even wider choice for customers."
