Clinical Data, Inc. announces that its Cogenics division has launched CogenicsOnline, a personalized global e-commerce solution for the life sciences industry.

CogenicsOnline offers e-commerce services to its growing customer base in the healthcare and life science industries, as well as agricultural and academic partners. The online solution allows customers to obtain express sequencing and order other high-value services, including gene expression, genotyping and biomanufacturing support.

Customers will benefit from personalized, online access, enabling them to place their order in their 'preferred' way, supplement the order with additional pre and post treatment services, track the order processing status and grant levels of access to results in different electronic formats.

"We are very pleased to provide our customers with this unique and secure online system which is based on several years of hands-on experience with our French web service, Gexbyweb," said Paul Tomlin, Senior Vice President European Operations and Finance, Cogenics. "This new portal is a key step toward expanding our leadership position in the Express sequencing markets both in Europe and the U.S. It is also an integral part of the Company's strategy to offer the same highest quality genomic services in a cost-effective and more efficient manner, wherever these services are performed."

CogenicsOnline is available immediately in the United Kingdom and France, with initial online ordering capabilities for express sequencing. Cogenics plans to extend its online service geographically to include other European countries in the coming months, and will include the United States during the course of 2009.

In addition, Cogenics intends to broaden the range of services that will be available to customers online in parallel with the geographic expansion.
