Eppendorf has launched Combitips advanced®, offering safe, accurate dispensing of liquids by positive displacement.

New features include colour coding for easy size recognition, elongated tips to empty all standard laboratory tubes completely, a dispenser box with chute, and an additional purity grade -‘Eppendorf PCR clean’.

Available in nine sizes for use with any Eppendorf Multipette, Combitips advanced are designed for applications requiring precise pipetting of identical amounts of liquids in series.

The hermetically sealed piston prevents contamination of the pipette and the positive-displacement principle supports high precision dispensing of problematic liquids, such as those with high density/high salt, high vapour pressure or high viscosity.

The elongated tips (size 2.5 mL, 5.0 mL, 10 mL) enable complete emptying of all common vessels, while the funnel geometry optimises haptic feedback and prevents damage to gloves.

No slip agents are used in the manufacture of Combitips advanced, ensuring the best results in bioassays and other sensitive analytical methods.

The new packaging concept and colour coding of the different sizes increase ease of use.

Dr Sabine Kühn, Global Product Manager Liquid Handling, commented, ‘The versatility of Combitips advanced makes them ideal for a range of applications, including ELISA, RIA, PCR set-up and general sample preparation or other serial pipetting tasks. With no contamination through aerosols, even aggressive, radioactive, toxic or infectious liquids may all be dispensed safely using Combitips advanced. A choice of Eppendorf Quality, Biopur® or PCR clean enables users to select the most suitable purity grade for their application.’
