Exiqon’s new 7th generation microRNA Arrays consist of 3,100 unique capture probes that cover all mature microRNAs annotated in miRBase V18.0 for human, mouse and rat including related vira and additional 25 proprietary validated human, mouse and rat microRNAs not yet listed in the miRBase.

Almost 1,900 human microRNAs are covered by the array. This new an updated version of the arrays has over 800 new microRNA capture probes compared to the previous version of the array.

The 7th generation of miRCURY LNA™ microRNA Arrays are fully compatible with Exiqon’s miRCURY LNA™ Universal RT microRNA PCR product line which customers may use to validate expression profiles obtained by the miRCURY LNA™ microRNA Arrays.

In a comment, Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing, Henrik M. Pfundheller said:

“The combination of up-to-date miRBAse coverage and our LNA™-enhanced capture probes makes our 7th generation microRNA array a superior platform for global microRNA expression analysis” and he added “The challenge in expression profiling of microRNAs is the GC content which varies from about 10% to more than 90%. By use of LNA™ enhanced capture probes we have been able to normalize the hybridization properties of the capture probes to accommodate the vast differences in GC contents. This secures very uniform detection properties across all 3,100 capture probes and makes Exiqon the sole provider of microRNA arrays with Tm normalized capture probes”.

The 7th generation miRCURY LNA™ microRNA Array is the most sensitive and reliable microRNA array available today with required sample input of as little as 30 ng of total RNA. Over the past years, hundreds of high impact publications using Exiqon’s microRNA arrays have confirmed the miRCURY platforms leading position for microRNA research and biomarker discovery.
