GenScript Launches CloneEZ™ Kit for Smooth Gene Cloning

International contract research organization GenScript Corporation has launched a new product geared toward its gene cloning customers. The CloneEZ ™ kit can clone any insert into any part of any vector, GenScript says.

According to Company, the traditional cloning process requires many intermediate steps and takes eight hours or longer to complete. The GenScript CloneEZ ™ system incorporates proprietary enzymes into a simplified, one-step procedure that can incorporate PCR products into the selected destination vector in as little as 30 minutes under standard conditions.

CloneEZ ™ accomplishes this by bypassing many of the traditional cloning protocol's intermediate steps, such as restriction enzyme digestion, gel extraction, and ligation.

CloneEZ ™ can also handle larger PCR products than traditional cloning methods can. DNA constructs of up to 12 kb can be fused into any destination vectors without generating extra or unwanted base pairs. The only requirement is that the PCR primers have to contain at least 15 nucleotides homologous to the vector.

GenScript CloneEZ ™ technology is applicable to subcloning transferring genes from one vector to another in vitro, and high-throughput PCR cloning.
