Invitrogen Launches Kit that Measures JAK2 Phosphorylation

Read time: Less than a minute

Invitrogen Corporation announced the launch of the JAK2 [pYpY1007/1008] phosphoELISA™ kit, said to be the first complete ELISA assay to quantitatively detect phosphorylated JAK2.

Phosphorylation, or the addition of phosphate groups, is essential to the activation of many enzymes, and, with JAK2, is an integral part in the signal transduction pathway called JAK/STAT.

Activation of JAK/STAT is implicated in cellular function such as differentiation, cell survival and response to pathogens. However, phosphorylation of JAK2 has been extremely difficult to measure. The JAK2 [pYpY1007/1008] phosphoELISA™ kit gives researchers a reliable tool for dissecting the intricacies of this essential pathway.
