SonicMan, ultrasonic device, has recently been proven to effectively shear in parallel 96 DNA or chromatin samples with low CV’s for sample prep to sizes as low as 100 base pairs.The newest version of this machine fragments DNA in isothermal conditions via on-line chiller block which allows for the low base peak fragments required for next generation sequencing platforms including Illumina and Life Technologies.
The SonicMan is also useful for applications such as re-suspension of compounds initially or after freeze/thaw, extraction of target proteins, DNA/RNA, and enzymes using cell lysis without using harsh chemicals, and to mix low volume assays.
