Cambio is the sole UK supplier for innovative life science research kits from Epicentre® Biotechnologies, including those based on the company’s revolutionary Nextera technology for DNA sample preparation.

Nextera technology employs in vitro transposition to prepare sequencer-ready libraries from genomic DNA for multiple sequencing platforms.

Simultaneously fragmenting and tagging DNA in a single-tube reaction, Nextera technology requires only 50 ng of starting DNA and can be used to incorporate platform-specific tags and optional barcodes.

Both Roche 454-Compatible and Illumina®-Compatible Nextera DNA Sample Prep Kits are available.

One of the most significant advantages of the Nextera library preparation compared with standard methods, such as nebulisation, sonication or shearing, is the time saved.

Whereas existing methods may take around six hours for library preparation, Nextera requires less than two hours.

Other Epicentre products in Cambio’s portfolio cover gene expression analysis, PCR, cloning and library construction, RNA sequencing, in vitro transcription and Transposomics research.

Based in Madison, Wisconsin, Epicentre® Biotechnologies is an Illumina company. Epicentre’s products are used worldwide in basic research, drug discovery, cancer research, infectious disease research, microbiology, and personalized medicine.

Epicentre works continuously to develop new reagents and kits for genomics, proteomics, and RNA research - all are supplied by Cambio.
