Partek Debuts New Features in Partek Flow Software at Bio-IT World Conference
Partek Incorporated is debuting new enhancements and features to their next generation sequencing software, Partek® Flow®, at the Bio-IT World Expo and Conference in Boston, April 24 - 26.
Among the new features is the inclusion of their algorithm for transcriptome analysis that won the most creative algorithm in the Illumina iDEA challenge last year.
The algorithm recognizes that there is not one statistical test that fits all transcripts.
To compensate, the algorithm applies multiple models to each transcript to identify the best analysis fit, delivering more statistical power and more information about the factors influencing the expression of each transcript.
Current next generation sequencing analysis software targets bioinformaticists and has posed a challenge to biologists who are typically uncomfortable with command line driven interfaces.
Not only does Partek Flow have superior statistics, with a user-friendly interface designed for the biologist that allows them to directly analyze and visually manipulate data, it now also allows them to fine-tune analysis parameters visually by dragging and dropping.
Upon satisfaction, the parameters can be saved to generate custom analysis protocols to deploy and share among users for automated and standardized analysis to save time and promote collaboration.
When asked about the new features added to Partek Flow, Tom Downey, President of Partek Incorporated, stated; “Partek Flow was already a powerful software that provided fast and accurate alignment, QA/QC, and quantification. With these enhancements Partek Flow sets itself apart from its competitors as the enabler of the true democratization of next generation sequencing.”
