PREMIER Biosoft International Releases Beacon Designer 7.7

Read time:
PREMIER Biosoft International announced the world wide release of Beacon Designer version 7.7 with design support for High Resolution Melting Analysis primers.
High Resolution Melting Analysis (HRMA) is an upcoming post PCR analysis method which has been gaining attention, especially for SNP genotyping for identification of variants, prior to sequencing.
Beacon Designer uses sophisticated algorithms to assure analysis by High Resolution Melting. HRMA primers are designed flanking the SNP of interest to generate the shortest possible amplicons with detectable melting temperature variation.
The primers are designed avoiding template secondary structures, assuring primer extension. Beacon Designer also enables analysis of pre-designed or published primers.
“With the release of Beacon Designer Version 7.7, we are excited to be at the forefront of this new and innovative technology." says Kay Brown, V.P. Business Development and Marketing.
Beacon Designer also supports design of oligos for SYBR® Green, TaqMan®, LNA™ spiked TaqMan®, MethyLight, molecular beacon, Scorpion, NASBA® and FRET assays.
