SPEX has introduced SamplePrep’s Kryo-Tech™ accessories for preserving RNA and proteins during grinding in the Geno/Grinder®. These accessories include Cryo-Station and Cryo-Blocks.

Vials containing temperature sensitive samples are placed in Cryo-Blocks then chilled in the Cryo-Station to maintain sub-zero temperatures during grinding to increase yields. Titer plates can also be used in the Cryo-Station and then transferred directly to the Geno/Grinder® when ready to grind.

Kryo-Tech™ accessories support applications using plant and animal tissue for RNA/DNA extractions or any other testing that requires low temperatures are critical (especially important when preparing samples for forensics and pharmaceuticals, or for recovering volatile organics).

The Cryo-Station is designed to fit up to three standard 96-well titer plates or our wide selection of Cryo-Blocks in its cooling section. Kryo-Tech™ accessories are bench-top tool for frozen specimens and other temperature sensitive samples used in the laboratory.
