Thermo Fisher Scientific has launched the Applied Biosystems Axiom Propel Genotyping workflow for fast-growing genotyping labs. This workflow solution is designed to allow laboratories to scale up easily by eliminating the need for multiple liquid handlers and lower running costs through the use of re-usable dispensing cassettes and minimal labware.

The new Axiom Propel Genotyping workflow solution utilizes a validated protocol on scalable equipment, such as Thermo Fisher’s Multidrop™ Combi Reagent Dispenser, shakers, centrifuges and plate sealers. This solution aims to give the flexibility to scale-up without heavy upfront capital equipment and the freedom to increase throughput as genotyping demand grows to millions of samples annually.

The modular setup also enables redundancy to ensure minimal workflow disruption and higher uptime.  Axiom Propel also offers a new chemistry and automated analysis workflow allowing genotyping results to be generated in two days. A standalone GeneTitan scanner can be used in combination with the GeneTitan MC instrument for higher priority samples.
