Thermo Introduces the Espresso Personal Microcentrifuge

Read time: Less than a minute

Thermo Electron Corporation has unveiled the Espresso™ personal microcentrifuge. Every aspect of the Espresso microcentrifuge has been designed for simplicity and ease of use: from its display to its convenient and accurate controls.

The Espresso microcentrifuge design features a small footprint and quiet operation to expedite and improve the microcentrifugation process. The digital display is visible from both seated and standing positions.

In addition, its 12-place rotor makes loading and unloading of 250 µl to 2.0 ml samples simple and straightforward.

The non-corrosive plastic rotor is designed to enable the use of filter-based preps and is simple to remove, allowing the rotor to be fully autoclaved and cleaned using strong disinfectants.

This not only makes the Espresso microcentrifuge ideal for general bench use, but also for specific applications such as sensitive nucleic acid, protein and cell preparations.

The Espresso microcentrifuge is designed to offer fast acceleration/deceleration and 14,500 xg spin, making it ideal for basic spin-downs as well as complex protocols.

The Espresso microcentrifuge features a 99 minute timer with 1 minute increments. The timer is accompanied by pulse and hold functions to maximize the range of processes.
