Unleashed Informatics has announced the launch of DogBox Inside; a vendor independent, multi-platform life science data delivery and analytics service.

DogBox Inside is a remotely maintained data warehouse securely installed on the customer’s IT hardware and open to customer audit and compliance requirements.

Like DogBox Plus, DogBox Inside provides "Today’s Data Today" with auto-updated content using SecurSync technology developed by Unleashed Informatics.

DogBox Inside includes hourly updated gene sequence and molecular interaction data from 18 different sources as well as pre-computed BLASTP and RPS-BLAST information for all protein sequences in NCBI’s NR database.

"A significant number of potential customers have indicated a preference to load DogBox Plus on their own gear to make use of excess capacity," says Unleashed Informatics Co-Founder, President and CEO Mr. Eric Andrade.

"We have over 6000 Unleashed Open Access Portal users with 50 new researchers registering daily. Our users told us they were looking for a tailored and embedded solution, so we developed DogBox Inside."

Unleashed Informatics also announced the DogBox Inside Partnership Program, a three-month trial installation for up to 10 eligible Open Access Portal registrants.

The program is aimed at start-up biotechnology companies and recently established research institutes evaluating "buy or build" scenarios in their data integration operations.

DogBox Inside is designed to allow customers to dedicate existing hardware to meet specific internal informatics needs.

Moreover, DogBox Inside assures query confidentiality, delivers data access speed, eases public/private data integration, and affords total data management control to the customer without ballooning their IT budget.

"In early development days, we knew that take up of DogBox data warehouse technology would hinge on a platform-neutral approach to product development," says Unleashed Informatics Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Christopher Hogue.

"Back then, we planned for the future and developed our solutions on a vendor agnostic basis with the payoff being today’s announcement of DogBox Inside."

DogBox Inside accommodates a wide variety of hardware solutions built around a 64-bit, x64-based CPU such as the AMD Opteron or Intel Xeon.

All major hardware vendors - including IBM, HP, Dell, Apple, and Sun - offer suitable hardware solutions which can be tailored to fit the scalability requirements and available resources of a particular customer.

To achieve optimal performance, Unleashed Informatics recommends DogBox Inside be deployed on a minimum two processor/core configuration with access to 8GB of RAM, 3TB of dedicated storage, and running Sun Solaris 10, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3/4 or SuSE Linux 9/10 Operating Systems.
