To facilitate the rapid identification of PDE inhibitors, BellBrook Labs has developed a fluorescence polarization immunoassay that directly detects AMP and GMP. The Transcreener™ PDE Assay includes a single set of reagents - an anti-AMP/GMP antibody and fluorescent tracer - that can be used for any cyclic nucleotide PDE, providing a robust, cost-effective alternative to currently available technologies.

The data management needs of discovery biology are complex and varied. The experimental data that is captured, stored and analyzed ranges from high volume, routine screening data through to low throughput, non-routine test management data that underpins pre-clinical research. ActivityBase™ is a data management system that integrates research data in a structured and scalable environment, providing secure management of a discovery organization’s principle asset – data.

Here we present a web-based bioinformatics solution for the management and analysis of all areas of cell-based screen experimentation: the Laboratory Information Management System of the Technology Development Studio (TDS-LIMS). TDS-LIMS is a software package consisting of the Library Checker, Library Browser, Scheduling Kit, Screen Browser and Screen Publisher.

In this work, we discuss the acceleration of the preformulation process through the use of modern software systems. The data system discussed can read, process, store, retrieve, visualize and report a wide variety of data type—XRD, Raman, HPLC, NMR, TGA, DSC, chemical structures, properties and images—in a centralized and homogeneous way. A pilot study at a pharmaceutical company demonstrated possible time savings between 20% and 80% at various points in the preformulation workflow.

Here, we model the integration of the Protedyne BioCube System and the Acumen Explorer for practical high-throughput, high content screening of protein kinases.
