In our study we have analyzed 1317 people, in the Microbiology Laboratory of DRSH, Durrës, Albania, suspected for C. albicans throat infections. Individuals we analysed were females and males, of different age groups, for the period of time between April 2012 and December 2013.

Changes in gastrointestinal microbiota have been suggested to drive the increasing prevalence of food allergy. Our aim was to determine the impact of mouse and human intestinal microbiota on modulation of allergic parameters including IgE.

This poster highlights the combination of metabonomics and high throughput screening by the identification of gut microbial metabolites and a screening assay designed to determine their cytotoxicity to liver-like cell cultures.

Six major periodontal pathogens were quantified (with standardization to human gDNA) in periodontal pockets of periodontitis patients and healthy subjects by original qPCR assay. Relative amount of pathogens to total bacterial mass increased for P.gingivalis (100-fold), P.intermedia (10-fold) and T.forsythensis (10-fold).
