Comparisons between droplet digital PCR and real time PCR: Methylation at the limit of detection
The use of DNA as a biomarker relies on analysis tools that are highly sensitive and give reproducible results. Digital PCR is a newer technology for DNA detection and quantification that is rapidly being adopted for applications in precision medicine. This seminar will cover the following topics:
- Digital PCR basics and assay development
- The application of digital PCR to disease diagnostics
- Digital PCR for highly sensitive non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT)
- Cell-free DNA cancer testing with digital PCR
In this talk Benjamin Brown from the University of Liverpool with discuss developing a novel process for the early detection of one of the most common cancers in the UK, lung cancer. Ben will cover the integration of the Droplet Digital PCR platform into his research as well as his clinical findings.
