The use of DNA as a biomarker relies on analysis tools that are highly sensitive and give reproducible results.  Digital PCR is a newer technology for DNA detection and quantification that is rapidly being adopted for applications in precision medicine.  This seminar will cover the following topics:

  • Digital PCR basics and assay development
  • The application of digital PCR to disease diagnostics
  • Digital PCR for highly sensitive non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT)
  • Cell-free DNA cancer testing with digital PCR

In this talk Benjamin Brown from the University of Liverpool with discuss developing a novel process for the early detection of one of the most common cancers in the UK, lung cancer.
