Standardisation of innovative cfDNA assays, an essential ingredient: controls!
The use of DNA as a biomarker relies on analysis tools that are highly sensitive and give reproducible results. Digital PCR is a newer technology for DNA detection and quantification that is rapidly being adopted for applications in precision medicine. This seminar will cover the following topics:
- Digital PCR basics and assay development
- The application of digital PCR to disease diagnostics
- Digital PCR for highly sensitive non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT)
- Cell-free DNA cancer testing with digital PCR
In this talk Kasia Wilczynska, PhD a Senior Scientist at Horizon Discovery will dicuss the importance of controls in the standardisation of cfDNA assays. Her talk will also cover what impact your assays have on your work flow and how this can lead to failure. Kasia aims to communicate one common reference point - HDx Reference Standards - by comparing assay performance between platforms and users.
