Magnetic "T-Budbots" Kill and Clean Biofilms

Biofilms are communities of microbes that form slimy layers on surfaces, including some medical devices. Now, researchers reporting in ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces have made magnetically propelled microbots derived from tea buds. ACS’ Headline Science shows how these “T-Budbots” can dislodge biofilms, release an antibiotic to kill bacteria and then clean up the mess.
