Designing a T Cell Backbone Panel Using the Attune™ NxT Flow Cytometer

Designing a T Cell Backbone Panel Using the Attune™ NxT Flow Cytometer content piece image

T lymphocytes are a major group of cells in the immune system and are essential for protection against infection and disease. Circulating T helper cells identified by the antigen CD4 have been used to study the efficacy of vaccines, diagnose and monitor infectious diseases, and monitor the effects of immunosuppressant drugs.

Thus, CD4 T cell identification is the basis of many studies and a backbone panel for the initial identification of leukocyte subsets which provides the flexibility to add other markers for deeper characterization of the target cells. Flow cytometry is an effective method for identifying rare cells such as CD4 T cells amongst mixed cell-type populations.

Download this application note to discover how the Attune™ NxT Flow Cytometer:

  • Has a specially designed backbone panel of antibody markers.
  • Allows for additional markers to further characterize specific T cell subsets.
  • Can identify changes to CD4 T cell homeostasis, such as proliferation.
