As per the contract, Bruker will supply spark optical emission spectrometry and X-ray fluorescence systems for stainless steel analysis and an industrial analysis automation system featuring automatic milling. The company will also supply individual laboratory equipment, including XRF for slag detection and combustion gas analyzers for sulfur, carbon, nitrogen and oxygen.

Bruker’s elemental analysis systems shift their information into a laboratory information management system, which in turn transfers the data directly to the plant control software for instantaneous responses at the manufacturing line. Once completed in 2012, the new stainless steel factory will become one of the advanced stainless steel production plants in the globe.

Dr. Joerg-Friedrich Holzhauser, who serves as Director of Quality at ThyssenKrupp Stainless USA, stated that the company looked for a dependable and affordable solution to get analysis results rapidly and accurately. He added that Bruker’s instruments meet all targets of the company.

The Vice President for Industrial Sales & Marketing of the Bruker Elemental Division, Georg Schick stated that the company is proud about its selection to supply laboratory instrumentation for ThyssenKrupp Stainless USA’s project. Obtaining integrated, manifold elemental analysis systems from one supplier facilitates customers seeking comprehensive solutions, he added.
