Lab Innovations - the UK’s only show dedicated to the latest laboratory technology & consumables, analytical & biotech equipment – returns to the NEC, Birmingham on 6 & 7.

The 2012 launch show was considered a major success by the industry, with 84% of audited exhibiting companies rating their participation as a worthwhile investment.. This feedback has attracted an array of new exhibitors for 2013 including Camlab, Purite, Kinetica, Carbolite and Hudson Packaging.

Barry Hudson, Managing Director at Hudson Packaging says: “When I found out there was a show dedicated to the lab industry, I just had to sign up. It’s the perfect platform for us to show our products and meet customers.”

Rodwell Scientific Instruments, specialists in sterilisation monitoring products, is another exhibiting at the event for the first time, Jason Goodall, the company’s Managing Director adds: “Our range is new to market, and with the show having been a success last year, we really want to get our products in front of the right audience”.

The show's expansion includes a brand new UKAS Contract Lab Pavilion, featuring companies, like TMS Europe. The company supplies a range of laboratory ovens and furnaces which it can supply UKAS calibrated.  James Driver, TMS Europe’s Sales Co-ordinator says: “There is a lot of world-beating work going on in UK lab-based companies such as ours, but up to now there hasn’t been an event to showcase them.”

The fact that Lab Innovations is the only exhibition reaching out to the UK lab market has also attracted exhibitors from overseas such as RPD Tool in Switzerland, LABvantage, from North America and Erlab and Merck Millipore both based in France.

First-time exhibitors are swelling the ranks of the many, like Endecotts, who have re-booked following last year’s very successful inaugural show.

“Lab Innovations gives Endecotts a great opportunity to meet potential UK distributors and customers to discuss market potential; share experiences and explore new ideas,” says Wayne Mar the Area Sales Manager at Endecotts Ltd.

The show floor has not only been expanded to accommodate a big influx of exhibitors; the organisers have also added to the exhibition’s many features.  For instance, new for this year, the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) is organising a roundtable event, with an expert panel debating the big issues of the day live on the show floor.

Lab Innovations will also once again host a full conference programme, organised by the RSC and featuring world-renowned speakers, including a keynote address by science showman, Andrea Sella.  There will also be a dedicated Campden BRI Theatre, featuring practical workshops and demos covering a range of issues in the food and drink sector.

The exhibition organisers are also running the Lions’ Lair competition, where exhibitors pitch their latest product against the clock and in front of a panel of experts and a live audience.  With a winner announced live from the show.

“Word has got round that last year’s launch Lab Innovations was a hit. Now everyone wants to come on board. The excitement about our 2013 event is palpable. " says Jake Morrison, Lab Innovations Event Manager.

Lab Innovations is supported by the Royal Society of Chemistry, Campden BRI, ELRIG, the Society of Biology, the Institute of Measurement and Control and Gambica. It takes place on 6 & 7 November 2013, at Birmingham’s NEC.
