Public Health Care Authority Chooses LABVANTAGE to Digitize Pathology Labs

Read time: Less than a minute

LABVANTAGE today announced that its C5-LIMS by SoftwarePoint has been chosen by a major regional public health care authority in Northern Europe. The goal of the project is to completely digitize and automate all of their pathology laboratories. The system will eventually become one of the largest such installations in the world and among the first of its kind in northern Europe. With an expected data growth rate of 300 Terabytes per year, the total solution will be provided in partnership with other experts in the field such as Hitachi and Aperio.

With an initial contract value of more than $4M USD, it includes a complete, turn-key solution for the entire laboratory IT system. The final delivery will also include diagnostic workstations and a speech recognition system for pathologists’ use. The work of the pathologists will be further eased by the introduction of computerized image analysis algorithms, which can automate tasks such as cell counting.
