SIEMENS RECEIVES ORDER FROM RICH’S TO INITIATE INTEGRATED WATER & ENERGY SUSTAINABILITY PLATFORM

Siemens Industry, Inc. has announced it has received an order from Rich Products Corporation (Rich’s) to initiate Siemens’ integrated water & energy sustainability program, which helps customers develop a comprehensive understanding of the energy and water usage throughout their operations and more effectively control and reduce the usage of both. The contract includes integrated water and energy management services at four of Rich’s facilities in South San Francisco, Calif.; Ft. Erie, Ontario; Hilliard, Ohio; and Murfreesboro, Tenn.
“Many companies take the approach of addressing either water or energy,” says Todd Musterait, Rich’s director of Energy and Water Management. “Siemens has a unique program because they have both energy and water expertise, as well as a detailed understanding of operational productivity. This allows us to take a holistic approach to long-term manufacturing competitiveness through sustainability and modernization."
Siemens’ program begins with a current-state water and energy usage assessment. The Siemens team then identifies opportunities for improvement that will move usage in the right direction while also delivering core operational benefits such as productivity and flexibility improvements. Siemens quantifies the impact of implementing the recommendations and proposes a phased implementation plan.
