Artel has announced that Greg Fischer has joined the company as software project manager, overseeing Artel’s growing portfolio of software solutions.

Software development and support are key focus areas for the company, particularly since the launch earlier this year of ArtelWare™ - an advanced application to assist laboratories using automated liquid handlers.

In addition to the expansion of ArtelWare capabilities, Fischer will be responsible for software support of the company’s MVS® Multichannel Verification System and PCS® Pipette Calibration System.

Fischer’s appointment signals a move by Artel to provide next-generation software solutions with enhanced features and ease of use that are built upon Artel’s deep quality assurance knowledge. “Software is an integral part of our commitment to staying abreast of our customers’ needs,” commented Kirby Pilcher, Artel’s President.

Pilcher continued, “Greg’s years of experience with scientists in biopharmaceutical and research laboratories will help us fine-tune our solutions and continue to develop powerful product and service solutions. He and his team will be focusing on extending the capabilities of ArtelWare, which will deliver a continually evolving set of analysis and decision-making tools to our automation customers.”

Prior to joining Artel, Fischer spent over a decade with Agilent Technologies, where he held software engineering and project management roles in the company’s gas chromatography and workflow automation division. He holds a bachelor’s degree in applied computer science from Plymouth State University (New Hampshire).
